walking the wall. Wall is a mix of stones - interesting - limestone, granite - and possibly also chalk -- and well mixed for strength.

from LONG ago - and still in use as house - not museum. Think the only place I've seen similar in the US is georgetown or alexandria - and/but that is a few centuries later.

this is the quilt museum - basic building is a trapizoid - ..."follow the street"

couldn't take pictures in the museum itself, but could in the stairwell -- beams from 14th cen - glass elevator from 20th. .. and it works

outside the castle museum there was a ferris wheel - or as they say here, a carousel. goes counter-clockwise... and....

all the horses have hair (now acrylic) tails. Is this all over? or only on Victorian carousels? I'm coming up with quite a few wonderments...
